HarbourVest Voted Secondaries Private Equity House of the Year

Boston — 24 April 2009 — HarbourVest Partners, LLC (“HarbourVest” or the "Firm") was voted Secondaries House of the Year in the BVCA/RealDeals Private Equity Awards 2009.

HarbourVest’s award, decided by a panel of private equity industry peers and specialists, was selected from a shortlist of four leading secondaries houses and given on the basis of the following criteria:

-   the range and quality of new deals
-   the level and success of fundraising activity
-   the general expansion of the business, including new appointments and geographical reach
-   the secondaries firm’s contribution to innovation, entrepreneurship and the private equity community
-   endorsements and testimonials from other parties involved with the firm

It is welcome and deserved recognition for the skill and diligence of the HarbourVest secondaries team around the world,” said Peter Wilson, Managing Director, HarbourVest Partners (U.K.) Limited and a member of the Secondaries Team who collected the award on behalf of the team at the ceremony.

HarbourVest also announced that it had closed its latest secondary, Dover Street VII, at U.S.$2.9 billion.  The fund closed at its cap and was oversubscribed.  Dover VII makes secondary investments in venture capital, leveraged buyout, and other private equity assets, as well as portfolios of operating companies.  In total, 197 institutional investors committed capital to Dover VII, including corporate pensions, public pensions, endowments, and foundations located in the U.S., Europe, and Asia Pacific.

HarbourVest’s fellow shortlisted candidates were Coller Capital, Lexington Partners and Pantheon.
